The snake plant is the ultimate in beginner friendly. They thrive on neglect. A very resilient plant that can handle the odd over watering and low light, even being forgotten about. Water this plant every two weeks to once a month and keep in bright light for optimal growth.

Bright indirect light is best. Direct sunlight, especially south or west facing can burn the leaves. Grow light are also a great option, place several inches away from light to avoid burning or stress.

Water when soil is dry, the leaves are soft or flagging. You can either water from the top or place plant in a container of water to drink on their own. Remove when soil is saturated.

During the growing Season, fertilize your plant every two weeks. You can use a spray or dissolved fertilizer.
During the winter, if your plant still shows signs of new growth continue to fertilize. Discontinue when the pant goes dormant.

Clean the leaves and stems as needed. Keep an eye out for pests and eliminate as needed. Regular cleaning and maintenance help prevent pests.
